Drag & drop list/grid reordering?

I'd like to create an image sorter widget where images (or preferably views with multiple components) would be drawn in a list or a grid and the user would be able to drag them around to re-order things within the same grid.

Is there an OL component that already does this? Any tips about the best approach?

I have ajax javascript/php that can do this but I'd prefer to do it within an OL context.

There isnt a component written for this but the Calendar Demo would kind of give you an idea on how to do this
