Mouse Clicks IE7 DHTML

When I run my app in IE7, I have to click the mouse once to get a pointer and again to cause the click event. In Firefox, everything works as expected. Is there something special required in IE7.

The problem occurs when there is an edittext control along with the clickable object such as a button. Once the mouse cursor passes over the text box the cursor changes to an arrow instead of a finger pointer and then a mouse click is required to change back into the finger. The mouse click event for the button will only occur when the mouse is click and the cursor is the finger pointer.
