Laszlo/Flash Developer
EduCap Inc., a McLean, VA. based organization that pioneered the credit based education loan industry, is actively recruiting for a Laszlo/Flash software engineer. Reporting to the VP of Customer Advocacy this position is responsible for developing User Interfaces and Rich Internet Applications primarily using Laszlo/Flash technology for an exciting Web 2.0 social networking service.
Responsibilities for the position include:
Participate in requirements and design activities, and develop and document User Interface design requirements. Lead requirements and design activities by ensuring user needs are met, User Interfaces are readily useable, and User Interface design is robust and extensible.
Develop and unit test new or existing components within Laszlo/Flash User Interfaces.
Assist project staff in deploying User Interfaces to production environment. Assist users and customers in understanding User Interface effectiveness and defining enhancements.
Provide support for testing effort: assist in creating test plans, scripts, and data. Work with QA staff to perform tests and identify needed corrections or enhancements.
Build strong relationships with users and program management by providing superior support as demonstrated by clearly owning, resolving and communicating issues; being responsive to requirements and deadlines; and promoting goodwill in a professional and trust-building manner.
Qualifications for this position include:
BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline or equivalent experience in web application development.
Proven experience working in large development teams and closely supporting QA processes.
Minimum 2 years of OpenLaszlo Development experience. Strong User Interface development experience.
Minimum 2 years software development experience with all of the following: Open Laszlo, JavaScript, DHTML.
Web development experience with AJAX or other RIA framework desirable.
Prior experience with a large, multi-component J2EE or other multi-tiered internet application is very desirable, especially if a rich presentation technology (Flash/Flex, Open Laszlo, AJAX) was also used.
Demonstrated ability to overcome obstacles and negotiate resolutions to complex problems.
