Datepicker and Datapath

Hello,
I'm trying to use the datepicker with a dataset filled by javarpc. If I fill the datepicker by script it doesn't display the selected date until I go to another and back. Is there anyway to refresh or to maybe by using the datapath but I just can't see how to create the Date object using xpath ?

I've tried sending a selectdate event but still the selected date is not displayed until I make a 'manual' refresh by moving the dispayed month or year and going back. Maybe nother event could 'refresh', but i don't know which
