Replacing icons

Hi,

I've tried to replace the icon of a tree, however it doens't work for me (I'm using version 3.0.2).
Can someone please provide an example how to replace an icon of a tree?
Moreover is it possible to add an icon/gif in a drawer (next to the drawer label)?
