PDF version of documentation

Are there any plans to upload PDF versions of the current documentation?

(a small side note)
We're in an age where developers learn 2 or more languages a year; you'd think there'd be a startup that would specialize in printing reference manuals and tutorials (and other very large documents) on double sided paper, and mailing them out ... This is the fifth time this year that I've wanted to print out something more than 200 pages, but not blow my own printer ink or time.

Which seems to be identical to the online version fro 3.3.3. Im not sure what changes have bee made, and have noticed a few slight errors, (it was probably written for an older version), but is very useful.

We prepared the PDF of earlier versions using free tools from Macromedia.

If I recall correctly, when I tried to do the same process of the 3.3 doccs, the tools choked, and I abandoned the attempt, but some member of the community-- I forget who, sorry -- prepared the PDF and submitted it as a contribution.

I have recently discovered that the HTML-to-Firefox conversion tools seem to work find on Developer Guide chpaters. Simply view the Duidge in Firefox, and chose "PDF" from the print menu. This only does chapter at a time, but I assume it's not a big dead to figure out how to join them up if you want to print the whole book.

We're now in the middle of portng the doc tools to Legals. If time permits, we'll figure out a way to include automatic creation of PDFs into the process. Between now and Legals, however, I don't have any plans to create any versions myself, since the firefox option is available to anybody is interested. I'm focusing my efforts on creating new Legals documentation and fixing the tons of bugs in the current docs. If anybody out there wants to create PDFs of the whole documents and submit them back as a contribution, we would be happy to accept (so long as a contributor's agreement is in place!).

Hi all,

I generate a PDF version of the SoftwareDeveloperGuide.

Some of the limitations of the PDF it's the lack of links to the inner pages in the content pages, so i think, you must search the pdf to find a chapter or page.

Cause of the size of the file, i could not attach it to this reply, so i upload it to Rapidshare, the link to download it its.

The file size compressed its 11 mgs and uncompressed its 17 mgs.

I think maybe jsundman or another moderator could publish it in this forum or the wiki, for other people to access it.

You probably know of pdf that will convert any document to a pdf format. Unfortunately, the manual is on many different pages.
