I am attempting to install the Laszlo Presentation Server for the first time. I have j2re1.4.1_03 (JAVA_HOME set appropriately), which is installed fine, as Tomcat is running w/no problems.
Whenever I try to install Laszlo, I get:
'The Laszlo Presentation Server requires JDK 1.3 or higher. ...'
Please advise. Thank you in advance.

One quick question.
Are you trying to install via
cygwin, or are you double
clicking on the installer?
Thanks,
Eric

I am double-clicking directly on the install file downloaded off of Laszlo: lps-v1-windows.exe.

I'm not sure we've
tried 1.4.1_03 here yet. It's possible
they've changed the registry bits
on us. If you need to make progress, you might try an earlier version of the JDK.
(1.4.1 or 1.4.1_01 or 1.4.1_02)
I can't test 1.4.1_03 where I am
now... but hopefully we can resolve
this quickly.

Hi,
I just downloaded j2sdk-1_4_1_03-windows-i586.exe and installed laszlo with no problems.
It looks like you installed the JRE. Can you try it with the Java SDK installer?
Let me know how this works out.
Thanks,
pablo

You definately need the SDK (sometimes referred to as the JDK). If you have the Java Runtime Environment (JRE), that's not enough. You can get the SDK here:
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.1/download.html
The right column of download links is the SDK, the left is the JRE.
