Does open laszlo come with an IDE for developing laszlo applications?

An IDE is provided that works as an Eclipse plug-in. But it doesn't appear to be actively supported and only works with the following releases of Laszlo 3.4 and 4.0.10. You can find it at http://www.syte.ch/en/laszlo.xml

The Eclipse plug-in IDE is a resource hog and barely usable, last I tried. It has been abandoned multiple times, for good reason.
You would think a RIA development tool would have a kick-ass visual IDE to help developers, but alas OL does not.
LZX development is still productive without one, but not having the option probably keeps new developers away.

We use the IDE in eclipse for our development, and have been doing so for the past three years. We turned off the visual WYSIWYG pane and the auto building because:
WYSIWYG: Useless for our Object based, dynamic building approach, as our visual objects are not 'placed' on the canvas in the code at all, but rather built up at runtime. So a visual designer would be of no use to us.
Building: Pointless... do you coding directly in a laszlo folder that you can view in a running laszlo server (local or otherwise), and then just make your changes and then refresh your browser.... very quick change->check result->change cycle.
And Eclipse has nice file management and svn tie in.
So... yeah, I don't see that a visual editor is particularly useful for 'heavy' apps, only little prototypes and simple apps really.

I'd like to announce the update builds of OpenLaszlo plugin for the NetBeans IDE:

You can use netbeans, but you need to install netbeansopenlaszlo plugin to develop any OL application. So far I didn't find any issues with netbeans, it's good and you get good support as well.
