Hi

Looking for some advice as to whether I've screwed something up (most likely explanation !) or I need to file a Jira....

I've been developing an app, which during the dev cycle works fine in the browser (i.e. the OL console view). Its compiling as swf8 - so far so good.

This weekend I wanted to publish a rough version of the app to get some feedback from colleagues. When I used the solo compile option the following happened...

- Went through first page fine.
- On second page it previewed my app - again fine, however the link to the swf file itself kind of showed my app - but frozen - i.e. no animations / no action on button clicks etc. The deployable file was the same.

I don't think theres anything complex in there that would prevent this app working in solo mode (in fact I eventually recompiled and deployed it as solo dhtml with no real problems)

I'd rather deploy as swf8 as at some point I'd like to embed some fonts to give better control over the look& feel - plus my initial observation is that the flash download size is much smaller than the dhtml (poss because of all the includes ?)

Any help (as always) much appreciated.

Cheers
Jim

In my experience, compressed DHTML app sizes are comparable to SWF sizes. Were the compressed sizes drastically different? The developer console shows the compressed size when you compile. If you are looking at the generated file sizes on the filesystem, remember that DHTML apps will be gzipped over the wire to the browser...

As you can tell from getting no responses to this thread, unless you can provide steps to reproduce an issue it is unlikely you'll be able to get help from others. I've not had any trouble with the SOLO deployment wizard.
