I downloaded the LPS with much anticipation.
Installation seemed to go fine but when I try to run the server I get a login popup that is asking for user name and password for Site : localhost and Realm : XDB (screenshot attached)
I asked another developer who sits next to me to install and he gets the same thing.
I am running Windows 2000 5.00.2195
SP 4
j2sdk1.4.2_01
Laszlo Presentation Server 2.2.exe
I do have another installation of tomcat on this machine
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance

You have to stop the other tomcat before you try to run the LPS.
The LPS startup is hitting an url at port 8080 that is probably triggering youir running tomcat.

Thanks bloch for the reply. I was not running another version of tomcat at the same time but apparently something else is creating a conflict on port 8080.
When I changed 8080 to 8081 in
server.xml
and
startup.var
Everything worked fine

Seems to be an Oracle Version of the XML Database
short: XDB
Just go to your tomcat conf folder exmaple:
X:\Program Files\Laszlo Presentation Server 2.2\Server\tomcat-5.0.24\conf
and change the port in the server.xml
to 8000 for example and it should work.
BTW: Is there any possibility to change the
the URL which is called after the server was started?

Changing the server.xml port setting was not enough. That was one of the first things I tried. I also had to change the port setting in the
startup.var
file

@ bloch:
Sure if I click on Laszlo Presentation Server on the
Desktop, the server starts up (tomcat), a browser
is opened, and it is redirecting to localhost:8080.
My problem was and is, that on this port my xdb
is running.
So I changed my server.xml file to port 8000. The
opened automatically openend browser is still redirecting to port 8080.
Do you understand what I mean?
Thanks a lot for your response.

Yes I see.
As oothers have said, editing startup.var will do it.
