when I installed the DR it said that I needed the SDK. I know its in the install instructions, but it was the devil to find on the sun website and the link on the instructions page no longer worked. It would be more direct if the install could offer to download the sdk for me, install it and then restart the install process. I know that's asking for a lot of hand holding, but that's the sort of thing that might put off a lot of candidate developers.

Even if there were 2 choices, download the DR and download the DR with SDK, that would make the install more straightforward. If you're thinking to attract ColdFusion and .NET developers they're used to installs that work by clicking "yes" on a couple of buttons.

Hey kentyler

Thanks for your feedback. I've fixed the link to the Java page, and clarified them a little:

http://www.laszlosystems.com/developers/documentation/installation/install-instructions-dr.php

I don't believe that we are allowed to package the SDK with our product, thought it may (at some point in the future) be possible to have the installer download the SDK for you). The problem is that when you download the SDK from Java, you have to agree to their terms and conditions (by clicking a button).

Take care,

Antun

Hey...

FYI... we're evaluating other
servlet containers that we could
use to ship LPS that require only
the JRE (as opposed to the JDK).
