In the release notes for LPS 2.2, it states that the version of Tomcat 5.0.24 that ships with the installation has 'tweaked' memory settings that prevent the 'out of memory' errors when running LPS apps. It also says that if we choose to run LPS on our own installation of Tomcat 5, we will experience the out-of-memory errors because we do not have these same settings.

But it fails to mention what/where these tweaks and configuration changes are. I would like to know what changes I need to make to my Tomcat 5 installation so I can run LPS 2.2. I'm having a hard time trying to figure out where all the modifications are that exist in the Tomcat installation that came with LPS 2.2 so I can make the same ones in my own installation.

Can anyone help?

Also, what is the official work on running this whole thing under JDK 1.5? I've seen answers going both ways so I'm wondering if it will not work or if it is just not officially supported.
