I use Eclipse to launch a Tomcat installation that serves up my project. I explode the ol-servlet.war into the application (except the web.xml and a few othe miscellaneous files). The only time it's slow is when I compile large app. Small and medium sized apps are quick.

BTW, what do you consider "slow"? You talking about 2 seconds or 2 hours? How large is your app - 20 lines or 20,000 lines? You running a 500Mhz processor Celeron or an AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000?

My point is that making a simple statement as you've made is pretty worthless without some metrics to back it up. "Slow" is a term that has to be quantified.
