Invoking Custom Java Classes

Does Laszlo have the ability to call a custom Java class? (or will it?)

For example, have a Java class that interacts with a stateful EJB, would it be possible to create a custom tag class to encapsulate and invoke the Java class?

I have noticed that Flex uses ActionScript - what is the comparable script language in LZX coding?
